A few years ago, a dear friend died tragically and unexpectedly. Although we disagreed on most political topics, his brain and heart made me a better man. I want this blog to be part of your becoming who you were created to become by giving us a place to discuss the things we disagree about.

The primary goal of this blog is to add value to your life.

These blog posts are written as if you were my favorite sibling. You and the other readers are a diverse group. Whatever topic I write about, some readers will share similar ideas, while others will disagree. That is one way I hope to add value to your life.

I hope that you will benefit from the time you spend reading these posts. I hope you will sometimes consider a notion or test an idea.

I believe that understanding different perspectives and engaging in deeper thinking is more important than agreeing with the author s viewpoint.

Friend, writing to you and for you is part of my attempt at legacy. Legacy is what others think, say, and do because of our influence. Wearing my brokerage or coaching hat, I believe understanding another perspective and thinking deeper are often more important than agreement. If my writing can inspire you to question, ponder, or adopt a different viewpoint, I will have succeeded. Engaging with diverse perspectives is crucial for personal growth.

You have a vital role in shaping this blog.

Since I can t see your face or hear your comments, it is hard to know what to leave in and what to emphasize. Knowing the audience improves the likelihood of adding value to readers. It may be that 90% of the people who read the blog have never told me they read it.

I hope that will change. Your feedback helps me help you. I don t want this blog to be a one-way transmission of information. I wish for a dialogue where your input helps me provide more value.

I have a question for you.

These blog posts usually end with a question. The question is often a variation of: “If the post is true, so what? Today s question is different. In fact, there are two different questions.

What do you want me to write about?

Will you tell me what you think of my posts? Reader feedback helps me help you.
